Employee Q&A: Julie Lovett

Meet Julie Lovett, Senior Strategic Capture Manager at The Building People! She is a key member of our Growth Team. Julie has over 15 years experience in the IWMS industry with both private and public sector companies.

Here’s more from Julie about her background and role at TBP:

What is your professional background?

I’ve managed IT projects in the IWMS Industry for several years and recently went back into the IT business development side of the business.

What is your current role at TBP?

I’m a Senior Strategic Capture Manager.

Can you tell us about the work you do at TBP?

I find opportunities for the growth team that align with the skill sets and goals of the company and, in collaboration with the technology team, track those opportunities through the proposal phase.

What is a fun fact about you that people may not know?

I like to play pool.

What do you like most about working in your role?

I really like getting to work with a great group of people and working towards the same goal.

How do you define success?

I define success as setting goals and then achieving them.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

I would learn how to paint. I took a class many years ago but then never seemed to make the time to do it.  I’m also impatient so I wasn’t very happy with my work.

What is a favorite quote that resonates with you?

“Energy flows where attention goes.”

Basically, energy is attracted to where we focus our attention.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I’ve received is to never give up, no matter what you are trying to achieve.

What is the accomplishment you are the proudest of to date?

My proudest accomplishment is getting my master’s degree while working full-time.  It was tough but very worth it in the end.
