The Building People Welcomes Tara Rivers as New Senior Contracts Manager

The Building People is pleased to welcome Tara Rivers as the news member of our corporate leadership team. Ms. Rivers brings 12 years of expertise providing Contracts and Procurement Management in Federal contracting for both large and small businesses. Prior to The Building People, Ms. Rivers worked at Verizon Business as a contributing partner and also developed Hitachi Data Systems Federal, a subsidiary of Hitachi Data Systems. Ms. Rivers has supported the Federal practices at Intel has also provided professional consulting services to small businesses as they graduate from SBA programs. She is also a chapter member with the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) where she speaks publicly on best practice in contract management and administration. Ms. Rivers has completed her FedPub Seminars’ Master’s Institute in Government Contracting and holds a Bachelor’s of Science from Old Dominion University and is currently completing her Masters in Public Policy. The Building People Welcomes Laura Fabeny as New Senior Program Manager at DOE

BioHSLFThe Building People is please announce the arrival of Laura Fabeny as the new Senior Program Manager for our Department of Energy Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Office (EERE) Business Administration Support Services (BASS) contract. Ms. Fabeny is an industry professional with an impressive background supporting innovative energy and sustainability programs across the country. For the past several years, she has managed the Mission Oriented Technical Support (MOTS) contract with the Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Office, where she was responsible for the technical and contractual oversight of all DOE HQ staff supporting the MOTS contract. In this role Ms. Fabeny managed more than 60 staff across multiple technical programs including the Building Technologies Office, the Advanced Manufacturing Office, Solar Energy Technologies Office, and the Federal Energy Management Program. As Contract Manager at The Building People, Ms. Fabeny is responsible for the allocation and tracking of a millions in annual budgets for multiple tasks within each program, including subcontractor allocations, fiscal year funding tracking, tracking costs against deliverables, and obligated/costed/uncosted notifications. She will work directly with EERE program leadership as The Building People’s client representative to help ensure they achieve their programmatic goals. Additionally, she will work with teams to develop task order scopes, budgets, performance metrics, and staffing requirements for new initiatives. 1003usnavylogoThe Navy awarded The Building People, among more than 1,800 vendors, the SeaPort Next Generation indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ), multiple award contract (MAC). This contract is the next iteration of the services contracting vehicle SeaPort-e, according to the Navy and is expected to award approximately $5 Billion in awards annually.

These work categories span across the Navy’s major commands and agencies, with the exception of Naval Air Systems Command, which has pursued its own services contracting vehicle. One of the major changes in the requirements for award on this contract vehicle was past performance in direct support of the Navy.

The Building People have a strong relationship with the Navy providing many of the services included in the SeaPort Next Generation contract. The Building People’s President and CEO, Lawrence Melton,  said, “Utilizing this new contract vehicle, enables us to expand on our already great relationship with the Navy where our team provides our world class services.”

The Navy will begin using SeaPort-NxG MACs to award task orders for services at the beginning of fiscal year 2019.

Leesburg, VA, November 20, 2018 – The Building People, LLC. was recently awarded the Building Maintenance and Operations (BMO) Phase I multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract. The $15 Billion BMO Phase I contract vehicle has a five-year base term, five option years and another six-month option to extend services. The award of this General Services Administration contract places The Building People among 16 other best-in-class small businesses.

GSAThe contract provides Federal customers with access to a short list of the top building maintenance and operations support providers for federal agencies in GSA’s zone 1 (Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington DC).

The GSA BMO Services include: HVAC Maintenance, Plumbing and Pipefitting, Elevator Maintenance, Electrical Maintenance, Fire Alarm System, Maintenance and Repair, Fire Suppression, System Preventative Maintenance and Repair, Roofing Services, Building Management Services, Architectural and Framework Building Maintenance Services, Commissioning Services, Elevator Inspection Services, Janitorial, Landscaping/Grounds Maintenance, Pest Control, Waste Management and Recycling Services.

JPEG NB TBP RHLeesburg, VA, October 31, 2017Northbound Solutions, LLC, a joint venture led by The Building People and Redhorse Corporation, was awarded a 5-Year $70 million single award Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract with the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) to provide strategic, operational, organizational, and financial planning; equity and asset management; and business process improvement.

Under this contract Northbound Solutions will provide professional support services to assist EERE in meeting performance measurement expectations of stakeholders across DOE leadership, Congressional oversight, and the Executive Branch. They will conduct business analysis and deliver strategic planning and management systems to support the EERE mission, vision, and strategies that are central to DOE’s innovative approach. Additionally, they will support legislative affairs activities, budget, procurement, finance, and help implement the EERE information management systems.
