LEESBURG, VA, February 12, 2020 – The Building People LLC., has been awarded a $1.2 million contract by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to deliver best in class services for the National Capital Region (NCR) in the development of a Regional Operations Center (ROC) Master Systems Integration solution.

The ROC will deliver next generation smart building command and control capability to NCR across many of the most high-profile agency headquarters facilities in their portfolio. The platform will Introduce a standardized, unified interface for building systems, and provide a single graphical user interface (GUI) though which the GSA can monitor building systems across the region. This will allow the GSA to dedicate their resources to a larger footprint, isolate specific problems with their mechanical infrastructure in real-time, and monitor energy use and operating costs against their sustainability goals.

The purpose of the ROC is not to replace the functionality and complexities of the individual building systems, but to supplement the day to day control operations of these systems. The ROC will serve as a supervisory, monitoring and control portal into the existing systems without the need to reprogram or replace edge device equipment in each building. GSA’s efforts will enhance their Smart Building strategy to deliver improvements in tenant satisfaction, energy costs, and operational efficiency. These advantages will support GSA in meeting executive and legislative goals while delivering exceptional service to their tenant agencies.
